A dining-car dream becomes reality

Spring 2004. A seven-hour train ride after an exhausting coaching session and a bottle of wine set the atmosphere that led Mrs. Schomburg and me to develop the initial idea for SMS-Coaching. Neither of us expected to see SMS-Coaching become one of the main solutions in the field of mobile learning. The first public presentation at Learntech 2005 aroused an unexpectedly large response from press and businesses.

How was that possible? As a  business-psychology consulting company we did not belong to the leaders in the field of technology. But with purchased IT Know-How and our competence we were able to become one of the first providers of a didactically high-quality, technically stable and practice-applicable solution.

Mobile Learning finds its footing

Meanwhile, a lot of things have happened. Technology has developed, costs for mobile connections have declined and new service providers have entered the market. The demand for mobile solutions on the customer side is increasing constantly. Nevertheless, mobile learning is still at the beginning. It still hasn't outgrown it's baby shoes. In fact, keeping to the same scenario, one could say it has just put on its shoes and is about to find its footing.

In today's technological world, almost everything you can think of is possible. What is missing are appropriate didactic concepts. Learning does not get better by being mobile. Only when a new quality of learning through mobility has been developed, as SMS-coaching has accomplished in some areas, does it become the right to exist. The development towards that aim has just begun.

Solution provider for m-Learning

In 2007 we started to act as a solution provider. Products solutions of partners are now part of our portfolio. It is something special because the the solutions are handpicked. Mobile-Coaching.net provides you with an overview of available solutions. So far we have chosen only a very view service providers where we can make sure that those solutions work in practice. It is only the beginning. And it is going to be exciting throughout the coming years. We are already talking to new providers who will be introduced in the next issue and on mobile-coaching.de. It also means that we are broadening our horizons.

Of course will you still be able to receive SMS-Coaching from us. In addition, we present you other independent or complementary solutions and support you in the progress of developing a compatible model of mobile learning for your business.
